Funding for our scholarships comes from our Annual Spring Campaign, Harvest Fair, Motocross Nationals parking, and from our endowments. Endowment monies are used to supplement each year's fundraising results, making more funds available to our recipients. The Dorothy Miller Trust was established over 30 years ago and the Walter A. and Katherine E. Phelon Fund followed it. The 1st/ Lt. Travis Fuller Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2005; the Jane and Stuart Watson Fund was created by Watson family members to honor their parents in 2006; the Everett O. and Miriam T. Rockwell Scholarship Fund was established by retired Granville Village School principal, Everett Rockwell, and his wife in 2007. The Elizabeth H. Meiklejohn Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her estate at her encouragement in 2010. Also established in 2010 was the Robert and Gloria Gery Scholarship Fund, started by the Gery's as part of their strong commitment to education. Newest to our list of endowments is The Ladies Aid Society of Tolland Honoring Bertha Fowler Hale in 2016. The society disbanded in October of 2015 and chose the Granville-Tolland Dollars for Scholars to continue financial assistance for undergraduate students.
We would like to thank all who donated to the Granville-Tolland Dollars for Scholars. Your generosity goes a long way toward helping our recipients achieve their higher education goals and ambitions.
Congratulations and best of luck to our 2023 Scholarship Recipients!
